Luminescent solar concentrators (LSC) typically use a clear material (waveguide) such as glass or plastic which is filled with luminescent (glowing) molecules to collect sunlight over a large area and concentrate that light to edge mounted solar cells. These cells then produce direct current electricity which can be used immediately or stored in batteries for later use.
Instead of mixing luminescent molecules directly into the waveguide, GlowShop has developed paints which can be applied to the surface of the waveguide, allowing artistic freedom in creation of personalized LSCs. These can then be used to learn more about the principles of renewable energy, electricity, and optics in one fun, accessible package.

Ten pipettes (paintbrushes) and five sheets of clear plastic(canvas) for painting your own concentrators
An ultraviolet (UV) flashlight for targetting specific parts of your paintings to see the individual glow of each paint and solar cell clips to convert paint glow to electricity.
